Anggun, flying the flag for France
Last December, shortly after she had been chosen to represent France at Eurovision, Anggun had already clearly decided what outfit she would wear for the contest taking place in May: "A fabulous dress by the French couturier (...) Jean Paul Gaultier, fashion's enfant terrible", she told journalists. Could it be that this singer, proud to be representing France as a multi-cultural nation, had chosen the designer especially for his hybrid creations and his style that knows no borders?
Either way, a few days after attending the Haute Couture Spring-Summer 2012 catwalk show, the Franco-Indonesian beauty appeared at the NRJ Music Awards last Saturday dressed in L’Oiseau Bleu, a pleated, draped dress in blue de France silk from the Haute Couture Autumn-Winter 2006-2007 Collection.
True to her commitments, she sang 'Des Ricochets', a charity single by the band Paris-Africa, with profits going to Unicef to help with children's projects in Somalia, Ethiopia, Kenya and Djibouti, that was recorded last Autumn with around sixty other artists including Shy’m, Arielle Dombasle and Jane Birkin.
Having gone for L’Oiseau Bleu, which dress will Anggun pick for the Eurovision final? Whatever she chooses, we all hope to be able to crow 'Kokorico' on May 26th in Azerbaijan!
