Anggun success story


Anggun ever received "Most Popular Artist Indonesia 1990-1991". 

Single "Mimpi" is one of the" 7 Best Song Indonesia of All Time.


The single "La Neige au Sahara" became an instant hit and was recorded as the most frequently played song on French radio in 1997. 


Album Au Nom de la Lune had tasted success with sales of more than 150,000 copies in France and Belgium. 


Anggun also managed to be nominated for "Best Newcomer" at the Victoires de la Musique, the highest award for French music industry. 


Snow on the Sahara album was released in 33 countries in Asia, Europe, and America. 


Single "Snow on the Sahara" were successful and ranked first in Italy, Spain, and several countries in Asia. 


The song "Snow on the Sahara" also reached the top five on the UK Club Chart in the UK and used as a promotional song world of Swatch watches. 


Snow on the Sahara album sold over 1.5 million copies worldwide and won the Diamond Export Award.


Snow on the Sahara Album also holds the record as a singer album Asia with the highest sales outside Asia.


While in America, Anggun was invited by the Canadian singer Sarah McLachlan to perform at Lilith Fair, a women's music festivals around the United States.


Anggun also appeared as supporting actress in a concert tour of several artists such as The Corrs and Toni Braxton. 


Anggun had appeared on American print media, such as Billboard and Rolling Stone magazine. 


Anggun also several appearances on American television, like on The Rosie O'Donnell Show and the New York Sessions at West 54th, and an exclusive interview on CNN's World Beat program. 


Gracefully managed to nick history by becoming the first artist to penetrate the national Indonesia Billboard music charts. 


Single "Snow on the Sahara" reached position 16 on the Billboard Hot Dance / Club Play and position 19 on the Billboard Chart Border Breakers. 


Anggun song also ranked second only to Celine Dion to join the list of journalists Billboard singles chart in 1998. 


This album was ranked 23 on the Billboard Heat Seekers Chart and so far sold about 200,000 copies nationwide. 


Anggun is the second international album was released simultaneously in 15 countries on September 8, 2000. 


The first single from this album, "Still reminds Me", was a hit in a variety of radio in Europe and Asia. 


The song "Still reminds Me" reached number three in Italy and the top ten in Japan. 


Single Still reminds me also ranked the top five of The Music & Media Europe Border Breakers Chart. 


Chrysalis became multi-platinum albums and won a gold award in Italy in just over a week. 


Anggun never got an invitation to perform with Canadian rock singer Bryan Adams at the Vatican Christmas concert. 


Anggun has successfully held its first tour around Europe and Asia. Anggun's first concert begins at Le Bataclan, France on February 1, 2001 and ends at Kallang Theatre, Singapore on 30 April 2001. 


Anggun has been involved in many collaborative projects. From the many collaborations he did on a fairly successful during the period it is common in jazz DJ Cam "Summer in Paris", with Deep Forest on Sunda bercengkok song "Deep Blue Sea" and the duet with the famous Italian rock singer, Piero single bullet in the "Amore Immaginato ".  


Single duet with Anggun Piero Pelu successfully topped the Italian Airplay Chart for two months. Anggun is also involved in two major projects Scandinavian films, namely Anja & Viktor (2001) and Open Hearts (2002). Anggun released a song called "Rain (Here Without You)" to Anja & Viktor. For Open Hearts, Anggun released a soundtrack album in 2002. In this third English-language album, Anggun collaboration with two musicians from Denmark, Jesper Winge Leisner and Niels Brinck.
 

Singles from this album, "Open Your Heart", was nominated for the award "Best Song" at Robert Awards 2003, The highest gift of the Danish film industry. 

Anggun was awarded "The Cosmopolitan Asia Women Award" in 2000 and "The Women Inspire Award" in 2002, as a singer who gives inspiration to all women of Asia on his career as a solo singer from Asia are internationally successful. 


On January 2003, Anggun present at MIDEM Awards to receive the prestigious award, the Diamond Award, awarded by the Ministry of Culture of France. 


Single "etre une femme" or "In Your Mind", has been named the Most Popular Songs of 2004 by Radio France International. 


Single "Saviour" was voted the best-selling soundtrack of the movie Transporter 2. 


Anggun also did a duet with Spanish singer Julio Iglesias is legendary in the song "All for You". 


Graciously received a prestigious award "Chevalier des Arts et Lettres" from the French government for career achievement and contributions to French culture throughout the world. 


Anggun was also appointed as the spokesperson of the United Nations (UN) for Microcredit Scheme,
Anggun in Indonesia biggest concert titled "Concert For Country" at the Jakarta Convention Center. Tickets sold out of 5,000 sheets and the concert a success. 


Anggun then receive a special award from Indonesia Music Award as "Best International Artist". 


Anggun is also involved in the cultivation of environmentally themed documentaries live BBC production entitled Un jour sur terre or Earth.


Anggun also was asked as "Marraine Prix des Micro-environnement" (ambassador of the environment) by the National Geographic Channel and the Ministry of Ecology and Sustainable Development of France. 


Anggun was awarded "Le grand couer de l'Annee" for his contributions in a number of environmental and social issues in France. 


In December 2007, Anggun received another invitation from the Vatican to perform at the Christmas concert in Verona, Italy, along with Michael Bolton. 


Anggun also performed at World Music Awards 2008 with the song "No Stress" with DJ Laurent Wolf. 


He has also collaborated with a number of rappers are Pras Michel (Grammy Awards and former personnel group The Fugees), and Sinik Big Ali, as well as Laurent Wolf and Tomer G. 


In Indonesia, before the official release on December 1, 2009, Elevation album has been awarded double platinum.


Anggun also become ambassadors of commercial products, namely for Pantene shampoo and milk Anlene. 


In late 2009, Anggun re-appointed by the United Nations (UN), this time as an ambassador for the international food organization Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

Anggun also collaborated with the German musician Schiller in the song "Always You" and "Blind" for the album titled Atemlos Schiller. Anggun toured with Schiller also touring Germany during the month of March 2010. 


Echoes album achieved platinum in Indonesia in the first week of release. Seven months later, Echoes won four platinum and holds the record for best selling album in record stores Indonesia for 2011.


"Mon Meilleur amour", was released as a promotional single and straight tops the French International Airplay Chart, the French singles charts for the most played around the world. 




Anggun also appeared for the third time in the annual Christmas concert at the Vatican, this time it was a duet with singer Ronan Keating.

 

Anggun was asked again to represent France in Eurovision Song Contest 2012, an annual European music competition that has successfully catapulted the name of a number of artists such as ABBA and Celine Dion. 

Anggun is often dubbed as the "Diva Indonesia" by the media at home and abroad.


At the time of releasing the album Snow on the Sahara many international observers praised the music and sound Anggun often called "Annie Lennox of Asia". 


To support his appearance Anggun has assisted many of the world of fashion designers such as Azzedine Alaia, Dolce & Gabbana, and Roberto Cavalli.


When the campaign held its first international album on American television, Anggun Hollywood director had offered to play in the movie James Bond: The World Is Not Enough and High Fidelity. However, all rejected by Anggun. 


Anggun is one of Asia's first truly able to break through the international music industry outside of Asia.


Lionel Zivan S. Valdellon, a journalist from the Philippines, call Anggun as "an excellent ambassador to Indonesia and Asia in general.


In 2012 it returned Anggun received an award from the MIDEM for Gold-Export Sales Awards for album Echoes/Echos.
